Torrie Wilson, WCW Valet

From Scoops Wrestling

What young girl from Boise, Idaho hasn't dreamt of growing up, shedding the small town life and heading for the world of ... pro wrestling? Meet World Championship Wrestling's Torrie Wilson. This stunningly beautiful former Miss Galaxy arrived on the wrestling scene just a short time ago and set about breaking fans' hearts while wrestlers broke each other's heads. "I was only supposed to make a couple of appearances really. Then they just kept calling!" No complaints from wrestling fans who are on the verge of seeing a whole lot more of the 24-year-old Miss Wilson. The blonde valet for the "Filthy Animals" is poised to sign a more permanent deal with the company that could set the merchandising machine into overdrive. Torrie shirts, posters, calendars.... All this from a girl who had never been to a match before the fateful night earlier this year when she was approached by then WCW head, Eric Bischoff. There is no way I ever would have thought that I'd be doing this! Half my family was totally excited, and the other half thought I'd lost it. It's actually really fun ... everyone is so awesome. I can't think of anyone (here) that I don't like. I'm a converted fan totally!" It's actually a long way from her days growing up in a family with three brothers (and a menagerie of animals) in Idaho. She spent her early teens active in running, cheerleading and dance. The world of modeling was a natural progression for the young beauty, but one that came at a cost. She suffered a self-described "obsession" with her weight, which Torrie says she overcame by dropping out of the modeling business altogether to lead a normal life. Soon after, she discovered fitness and weight training, which led her to Boise State University where she studied nutrition. But academia was put on hold as the lure of California called. After only a year in the City of Angels pursuing an acting career, Torrie landed her coveted spot on the WCW roster and hasn't looked back since. Now she's seen by millions of rabid fans every Monday night on NITRO, inspiring her man, Billy Kidman, and the Filthy Animals to success inside the squared circle. Any chance that she'd ever consider lacing up the boots herself?

"I used to say no, but now I'm considering it." Actually she'll take that step at WCW's Mayhem Pay-Per-View event live from Toronto, where she'll be involved in a mixed tag match against arch rivals The Revolution, who have a blonde valet of their own, Asya.

Aside from the sold-out arenas across the country, you'll find Torrie hitting the malls of LA and putting her deft shopping skills to good use. Also an avid snow skier, her first love is, of course, the gym. A fitness "freak," she couldn't recommend it any more highly to women who want to look their best: "If you work hard enough, everything is definitely attainable. It's great for all kinds of women. There are 40-year-olds out there competing with the young girls. Just set in your heart what you want to do, and I fully believe you'll achieve all your goals." So, what does Idaho think of one of their own in the world of grapplers and steel cage bouts? "We were in Boise this August. And half the crowd was there for me!"
As if that's not the case everywhere else.
